If you asked me what my favorite project at Edge Media Productions is, I’d probably tell you it’s Local Love.
Not because it’s the biggest project we work on.
Not because it makes us the most money.
But because it reminds us why we started telling stories in the first place.
When most people think about video, they think about marketing. They think about views, likes, leads, and sales.
Those things matter. They’re important for businesses.
But storytelling has always been bigger than marketing.
Every town has stories that deserve to be remembered. Every small business has a reason they opened their doors. Every family-owned restaurant, barber shop, gym, nonprofit, artist, coach, and entrepreneur has a journey that most people never hear.
Local Love exists to tell those stories.
We believe the businesses that shape our communities deserve more than a quick social media post. They deserve something that captures who they are, why they do what they do, and the impact they have on the people around them.
That’s what Local Love is about.
It’s about preserving stories that would otherwise disappear.
When we sit down with someone for a Local Love interview, we’re not interested in a sales pitch.
We’re interested in the moments that made them who they are.
The setbacks.
The risks.
The memories.
The people who inspired them.
The reason they still show up every morning.
Those are the stories people connect with.
Those are the stories that make someone choose to support a local business instead of a national chain.
People don’t just buy products.
They believe in people.
Every thriving community has something in common.
People support one another.
When local businesses succeed, neighborhoods become stronger.
Jobs are created.
Families are supported.
Events happen.
Downtowns stay alive.
Communities grow.
We believe storytelling can play a small role in making that happen.
If one video helps someone discover a local coffee shop they’ve never visited…
If someone decides to hire a local contractor after hearing their story…
If a family chooses to spend Saturday at a local business instead of driving somewhere else…
That’s a win.
One of my favorite things about Local Love is realizing these videos aren’t just for today.
Years from now, people will be able to look back and see what our communities looked like.
They’ll hear business owners talk about why they started.
They’ll see the faces behind the storefronts.
They’ll hear stories that might have otherwise been forgotten.
That’s something worth creating.
We’re not just making content.
We’re preserving a piece of local history.
We’ll continue filming Local Love because every story matters.
Not just the biggest businesses.
Not just the newest businesses.
Not just the businesses with the biggest marketing budgets.
The small family businesses.
The nonprofits.
The local organizations.
The hidden gems.
The people quietly making a difference every day.
Those are the stories we want to tell.
Because every community deserves to know the people who make it special.
And if our cameras can help preserve those stories for years to come, then we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.
That’s why we film Local Love.
